Gowan Apples
The Gowans are noted in the wholesale market for their Gravenstein, Fall Pippin, Jonathan, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious and the rare Sierra Beauty.
The Sierra Beauty is a unique variety of apple which the Gowan family has continually grown since the early 1900s, when they first brought a tree over from the Sierra Nevada's. This apple is known for its high acidity and unique flavor and noted as a gourmet favorite for pies and applesauce. The Sierra Beauty also has quite a story behind it.
